Dear customers,
In regard to the recent events, we felt the need to let you know more about us and the situation you and we are all going through. The sanitary crisis has hit all of us pretty hard. Unfortunately, it was an unexpected and unpredictable event we all had to face and we hope you, your family, and friends are all doing well.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the mail service from the Japan Post is VERY DELAYED OR IS TEMPORARILY STOPPED TO MANY COUNTRIES because of the reduced number of flights. Please, expect your order to take much longer time than normal to arrive and please be patient. Please refer to the list below to know your country’s situation.
Unfortunately this is a difficult period for each one of us and our team have no control over how long the mail takes to arrive because it depends on Japan and others countries decisions.
About Us
We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience it has caused and is still causing all of us. However, we would like to remind you that My Japan Box is a human-sized company, and that’s why, unlike much bigger international companies, we can’t deliver products to everyone as quickly as we usually do.
The My Japan Box team handpicks and personally ships every single product you order.
As Japan was not spared by the crisis, you probably know this process became hard or even impossible for certain countries.
Please do not forget that we work hard and give our best to make you happy with our products, but there is way more than money or products at stake! We value our customers more than anything, however, at the moment the situation prevents us from doing quite a few things we would usually do very easily.
Our employees are also having to get used to working in different conditions from usual due to the situation, as we can not and do not want to put them at risk. Working from home made things a bit harder but we are now set and ready for this challenge!
We hope that once everything comes back to normal we can prove to you that you made the right choice by choosing us!
When Can I Expect To Receive My Products?
Indeed, we can’t ship products abroad as easily as before and even for the countries to which we can send products, it takes longer than usual.
All of the actors involved in the shipping process, from us to the Japanese post, without forgetting about international posts were impacted, thus explaining the problems with the late deliveries.
Concerning the United States and Australia, until now, it was impossible to ship products with the Japan Post but we recently signed a deal with DHL Japan and are delivering to the US and Australia, however this deal will be temporary and will include extra fees. You can also wait for the situation to get back to normal and receive your product once it has.

You can visit the Japan post office website for more details (In English)
1) If you country is not listed above, then we are able to send your package, but expect long shipping delays and mail service may stop at any time without warning. Packages have to wait for available flights, so some packages may take 1-2 months or more in some cases). We will do everything we can to send your package if we are able to. This also includes every type of mail, including EMS express mail (EMS express mail has priority over other mail types, but it is still taking longer than normal)
2) If mail to your country is stopped, you may of course order anytime and we will keep your package here for you and send it out as soon as we are able to (Unfortunately we still do not know how long this will be).
3) If your package has already been sent, it will probably take longer than normal to arrive, so please be patient. If the shipping is still being accepted to your country, we will do everything we can to send your package out as quickly as possible, but once we send it out, we have no control over how long it takes to arrive. Some countries are taking considerably longer than normal to arrive. The delivery time depends on the situation with your country’s post office. If shipping to your country is temporarily stopped, we will send out your package as soon as your country starts accepting mail again.
Also, please watch for your packages online with the tracking number and link you are provided when you order (Only Registered mail and EMS express mail have tracking numbers). Several packages have been sent back because they were not picked up before the time limit. Some countries may have special protocol where they are not directly handing your package to you for safety concerns, so please contact the post office in your country for details of how to receive it.
Because of the situation, your package may stop tracking for a period of time. This means that your package is waiting for a flight, or waiting to clear customs. It will start tracking again as soon as there is an available flight, or it clears customs.
